A Word About Detta Walker

dividedgirlofmineSo if you've got this far, either by being linked or just reading my app, you probably know that Susannah canonically has multiple personalities: Odetta Holmes (the nice and good one), Susannah Dean (the most recent and currently "main" personality), and Detta Walker (the mean and evil one.) That third one, Detta, has a tendency to show up in times of great stress.
And Detta is pretty much her own content warning, which is why I'm making this post so that people will know what they'll get when they deal with her. (If you don't want to deal with her, just leave an opt-out in the subject-line of your tag.) It's probably just easiest to give a list of Terrible Shit Detta Walker Does Because She Has Been Odetta Holmes' Bad Twin For Roughly Two And A Half Decades.
Terrible Shit Detta Walker Does
Steals shit: Detta will steal anything that's not nailed down for no other reason than it's there. She likes to steal all kinds of shit, but especially cheap shit.
Breaks shit: A lot of times Detta will follow stealing shit with breaking the shit she stole. She enjoys breaking shit way more than any person should.Believe me.
Tries to fuck up honkies: Detta is the living embodiment of all the anger and pain Susannah has lived with as an African American woman in the 40s, 50s, and early 60s. Unlike the other two, Detta's very much in favor of getting revenge on white people for that.
Is hurtful and malicious just because: Comes with the territory of being the embodiment of Susannah's dark side.
Talks like a racist parody of a black person: Sorry. She does. It's a sham and an obvious one, but she doesn't seem to be able to stop it. If you read dialog like this, it's because I'm trying to roleplay her correctly and unfortunately this means trying to replicate Detta's "voice." I am perfectly aware of how problematic that can be, though :c
